The
Story of BFGF Productions They met at a fraternity party at Emerson College in Boston. He grew up close by in Mansfield, Mass.; she was from Beachhaven, Brooklyn. He was a suburban New Englander who, as a Broadcast Journalism major, was assignment editor at a local Boston TV station. She was a city girl, a graduate of the Mark Twain Jr. High School for the Gifted and Talented, who studied theater and film and had visions of the silver screen. It wasn't long before they were dating and jokingly called each other "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" instead of their given names. They dreamed of moving to New York and forming a film production company together. Although Adele D'Man and Peter Goldberg are married, they still answer to Boyfriend/Girlfriend -- it's the name of their production company. The two have collaborated in the writing, acting, directing and production of numerous films, comical shorts, and theater. In July 2001, their film “only life” was seen at the Laemmle Sunset 5 movie theater in Los Angeles. It played along side actor/director Julie Delpy’s (Before Sunrise) movie, “Looking For Jimmy” and the short film “Jesus & Hutch” starring Eric Stoltz and Tate Donavan. Some Members in attendance was D’Man, Goldberg, Delpy and academy award nominee, Sally Kirkland. In April 2001 “only life” played at New York City’s Clearview Cinema along with the feature film “American Cowboys” narrated by William Hurt and also with Fred Dryer’s film, “Highway 395”. “only life” was the winner of “Best Film Score” and Adele had a Grand Jury Nomination for “Best Actress”. Summer
2003, Adele can currently be seen acting with Hope Davis, Campbell Scott
and Dennis Leary in “The Secret Lives of Dentists”
playing the role of “Carol”. Both Adele
and Peter’s work can currently be seen in the feature film, “Camp”.
Soon to be released, Adele and Peter acting in “Marci
X” with Lisa Kudrow. Upcoming features in the fall, “The
Hebrew Hammer” and “Death of a Dynasty,”
where Peter worked in the Production Adele and Peter are currently in pre-production with their film, "The American Dream", it’s a reality-based drama, centering on twenty-something’s entering a pyramid type business. The characters need to change every facet of their lives in order to achieve incredible amounts of wealth. Peter says, “We
want to make films that will have people debating and questioning. Adele
loves to make people think. There are so many fascinating stories going
on in her head. The number is endless. I love to help bring them to
life”. Our advice for the next BFGF team out there is “never
stop reaching for your ‘American Dream’”. |
